Fun Water Areas on Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas

I think the pictures say it all here! There are multiple water areas aboard the Oasis of the Seas!

The fun H2O Zone and pool area for kids! This was as soon as we boarded, and the only time it was empty!

One of many hot tubs, this one was always filled with kids!

On the other side of the octopus is the toddler splash pool. Diapers are ONLY permitted in this part of the pool. It is a complete circle and separated out from the rest of the H2O zone. While some people don't like this, I must say it is better than most other cruise lines that don't offer any water play area for those that are still in diapers.

This seal is located within the baby pool. You can see the short plexiglass screen trying to show that the space is separate from the main H2O area.

The yellow sculpture with the tiny bit of pink is another view of the toddler pool. It is the only area that has a short plexiglass wall around it too.

The pool was about this full through the duration of our cruise.

This fast moving deep pool was fun. Kind of like a lazy river, no rafts though. They even had an employee monitoring the entrance most of the time, and they wouldn't let kids in under a certain height without an adult.

They don't seem to have the best drainage system in place on the pool deck. This was after a quick storm that swept through. The storm caused the sail away deck party to be cancelled.

I loved the little areas that were cut into the wall with loungers. We saw many people napping here. It seems like a great spot to relax outside but still be out of the sun! I was surprised to be able to find one anytime I wanted too!

There were plenty of seats throughout the pool decks to relax and enjoy the beautiful view! The seats that were always taken first were right along the pool.

The zipline entrance is just ahead, and to the right is one of two surf simulators. Don't forget to fill out all of the waivers before you sail! There is one for ice skating, rock climbing, zip lining, and surfing on the Oasis of the Seas.

It's fun watching people wipe out!

I absolutely loved the Hot Tubs that were right before the entrance to the adults only area. Kids are permitted in this one, but there is a sign reminding everyone that an adult is required. If you do take children in these, remind them they are to be a calm and relaxing place, not a hot swimming pool to splash in. I suggest keeping the splashers in the ones near the family pools.

The Beach Pool was always full of drinking adults and they didn't seem very welcoming to children. Hopefully it was just on this sailing that we experienced this.

They had bands or a DJ on the deck between the pool areas playing daily.

Top 5 reasons you need to try out Carnival Cruise Lines

I constantly hear from clients and friends that they don't like Carnival even though they have never sailed on them, they feel this way simply because they heard something bad! Sadly many of them are missing out on a great Cruise Line. When someone has a bad experience they tell everyone, but when that same person has a good experience, they don't share it the same way. Also, Carnival doesn't jump when there is bad news about them, they fix the situation and move on from there. Here are my family's top reasons why we love Carnival and you should consider them as your next family vacation!

#1 - Ports visited in the Caribbean

On Carnival Cruise Lines my family has visited Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Honduras, Belize, and multiple ports in Mexico!

Disney has 4 ships and they all pretty much follow the same itinerary schedule month after month.

Their newer ships the Fantasy and Dream sail year round out of Port Canaveral. The older ships float between a few departure ports, but no where close to the number of ports that Carnival offers!

I absolutely loved Curacao! It was easy to get around with my daughter in a wheelchair from the ship too. Very few ports are easy to get around by foot/wheelchair as Curacao is. We enjoyed strolling through the floating markets and shops without being haggled as we've been in the more common ports that ships stop at.

#2 - Departure Ports!

I guarantee you are closer to a Carnival departure port than a Disney one. Carnival even sails from all the departure ports that Disney does! New York, New Jersey, South Carolina, Florida, Texas, New Orleans, California.... Where is your closest port? Message me to plan your cruise from the best port near you!

#3 - Dining... mmm Pizza!

Carnival Cruise Lines MAKES their pizza on board! You can see them mix the dough, toss it and add your toppings. The great thing about this is that you can make special requests. We love the quality pizza aboard Carnival ships. On Carnival you can get pizza 24 hours a day. It was great to have pizza for breakfast one morning!

Disney Cruise Lines Magic Ship uses BOXED Amy's organic pizza, do I really need to say more? Pizza is only offered during certain times in the afternoon. My kids said the pizza in the dining room was different tasting, so not sure if it is boxed there. I'm not a fan of my children eating pizza at dinner on a ship when there are so many other great options on the adult menu. The newer ships do make their pizzas on board but again they are only available during certain times of the day.

I can't find a picture of the salad from Carnival but it gave you the option of Caesar or plain. Disney only offers Caesar salad on the room service menu. When I asked Disney if I could just get a plain salad they said no, that the food for room service is pre-made... Disney didn't even have veggies and dip as an option on the room service menu!

#4 - Downtime!
On Disney we felt like we had to do everything, because it was Disney and it cost us $$$!!! On Carnival, we all read a book, played some card games together as a family, relaxed through dinner. Laid on the top deck and star gazed after dinner.. While Carnival has activities around the clock, we didn't feel that urge to do EVERYTHING. It is amazing how much of our time on Disney is sucked up by waiting for events to start and meeting characters.
My family enjoys taking a card game to the promenade to play before dinner a few days throughout the week. We walk off of a Carnival Ship feeling like we got quality time together and feel relaxed, not stressed!

#5 - Casino!!
Disney does not offer casinos, ALL Carnival ships have one! I don't think this needs more explaining!

If you are still nervous about sailing on Carnival, consider their 110% Guarantee! If you realize in the first 24 hours of sailing that you are on the worst vacation of your life, Carnival will get you home and offer you a future shipboard credit incase you want to give it another try. I have NEVER had a client use this program!

Picture tour of Disney's Fort Wilderness Lodge

I enjoyed a wonderful tour of Disney's Wilderness Lodge recently and I am excited to share this beautiful property with you!

At the entrance to the resort, the parking lot is to the left and on the right side is the covered waiting area for the buses to visit the parks and other Disney Properties.

The covered waiting area for the buses. The quickest way to the Magic Kingdom is by boat, all other parks and Disney Springs is by bus.

All of the entrance rugs have the Disney's Wilderness Lodge Logo.

Like all Disney Resorts you have the aww or wow factor when you enter the lobby. The Wilderness Lodge does not disappoint!

Two different Totem Poles are in the lobby. The Disney themed one is at the entrance to the gift shop.

The Wilderness Lodge regularly has nature talks by "Disney Park Rangers/Cast Members" that are always well attended.

A cute little bridge in the lobby goes over a small stream in the lobby.

The Roaring Fork is the quick service restaurant at the resort and is located downstairs in the resort.

Coffee and tea station, as well as a toaster.

Everyone in our family enjoyed breakfast here! The Waffles and Pancakes were perfect and my kids always jump at the chance to have chocolate on anything they eat!

Like all the Quick Service restaurants they offer a variety of drinks and take and go snacks.

Another Great Restaurant that is not talked about often is the Whispering Canyon Cafe. This is one restaurant that we rarely struggle to get in the day of and yet still enjoy the meal and atmosphere.

There is a comfy seating area in the main lobby of the resort.

Beautiful view from our balcony. There is quite a large gap/space between your neighboring balconies so it is easy to see on to your neighbors balcony and of course hear everything.

I love the creative decor through out the resort.

All the way at the end of the dock is the boat launch. It looks much farther than it really is, but it is still a little bit of a walk. You can access the Fort Wilderness Cabins and Campgrounds or Magic Kingdom from here.

I love the splash pool area for little kids to play! My children had a ton of fun in the pool at the Wilderness Lodge Resort! Disney pools are open year round!
