Cabins aboard the Oasis of the Seas

There are 3 main types of cabin categories: interior, ocean view, and balcony. Then there are dozens of different room categories within each type. Here are picture reviews of an interior, a balcony (where we stayed on this sailing), and a suite. There is a noticeable size difference in each. Please feel free to message me with any questions.

On this sailing we were located on deck 8. We found this location to be perfect for our family! Central Park is located on deck 8 and in addition to all the nice dinner restaurants (for a fee) there is a quick service restaurant that is included in the cruise fare and open for breakfast and lunch. We are not morning people and having a child that uses a wheelchair, it gets frustrating fast when you have to wait for an elevator every single meal! So, if you like not having to hit the stairs or the elevator to get to a food venue, this is the deck for you! We also found it to be a quiet deck, even with the large Central Park Garden area. There were a few character meet and greets on our deck too.

Interior Stateroom Cabin on deck 8 #8679 Category Q The smallest cabins are always the interior. According to Royal Caribbeans website, category Q is approximately 150 sq. ft. 

The bed can be a king or two twin size beds.

Dining on the Carnival Fantasy

The buffet area on all Carnival ships offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. The Deli, Pizza Shop, and other dining venues along the Lido deck vary by ship and sailing. 

The buffet area offers a variety of stations and lunch is themed daily. On departure day for this sailing on the Fantasy it was Italian.

 

Pictures and Review of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App

Here are some screen shots of the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App (for Android) we used while on-board the Disney Magic in 2014. Remember to download the app before you leave home(Android and iOS)! It will work as soon as you arrive in port. One issue we had was that the menus were not correct every night. So make sure you always visit the restaurant and view the menu on display. While we liked the app, we still like receiving the paper version Daily Navigator to plan our day with.We had late seating and occasionally would run back to our cabin in between the show and dinner to grab it to plan the next days activities. Cabins are usually cleaned during your assigned meal times. We rarely found turn down service happening for us before dinner started.

Overview of the Youth Clubs and Recreation options available for the day.

Open House for Youth Activities means that ANYONE can visit and play! We saw quite a few adults without children exploring. One side is always reserved for camp when the other is open for all. When at sea, the camp program usually runs from 9am - 12am.

Carnival Cruise Lines Camp Carnival Schedules for ages 2-5, 6-8, and 9-11

The first night of your sailing there will be a Family Welcome Aboard Party in the night club. Our family has learned that we all have a better week on-board the ship when we attend this party! Parents are able to meet the counselors, ask them questions, express any concerns they may have and introduce them to your children. On our last sailing, none of the parents got up to dance with the kids except for me and I won a ship on a stick for participating. 

Carnival has one of the most rigid children's programs at sea. Everything is structured, if your child is not interested in participating in something they suggest they sit and watch... We had our son take a book with in case we didn't get back to camp to get him fast enough. For most children, this is not an issue. For those that aren't fans of extreme structure, there is always the option to fill out the special needs forms with any concerns or issues. I am hoping that in comping years Carnival will make improvements to their Camp Carnival programs.
