I enjoyed touring Disney's newest property a few weeks ago. Art of Animation is a fun and whimsical resort for any family that loves being "in" Disney for their whole visit. From the second you pull into the lot you see the beauty of Animation! Like most of Disney's Value and Moderate resorts, parking spaces circle the resort so you can park a little closer to where your room is.
You are immersed in even more Disney film pictures as you walk in the main entrance to the resort.
The reception area was decorated with a variety of Disney characters that were the inspiration for the resort.
During the evening many of the cast members were dancing with guests in the lobby to blaring music. My kids enjoyed doing the Cupid Shuffle with other guests.
The large arcade was busy every time we walked by. Large gift shop with plenty of pin trading opportunities as well as all the essentials.
During our stay, a large portion of the water play area for Finding Nemo was under construction and blocked from view.
Between the Jellyfish is a zero entry area, that is where most of the children were playing.
Disney pays attention to every little detail and the seagulls can be heard saying Mine at different areas of the resort! The other themed areas at the resort are the Lion King, Cars, and The Little Mermaid. All the rooms are themed at this resort.
The kids loved the Ping Pong Tables near the pool.
If you wanted to play you had to pay .25 cents for a ball, but people were leaving theirs on the table when they left for the next guest to use.
Mr. Ray watches over the kids playground.
Squirt sits atop a very fun play structure located next to the pool area.
The slide exit nearest the pool.
Stairs, tunnels and slides had kids running and screaming in joy!
Crush at a building entrance.
One of the great things about Disney's Value Resorts is the great selection for quick service options. The Deluxe resorts have quick service meals, but the options are very limited since they offer multiple dining options. There was a variety of options at dinner and while it seemed crowded, it moved along quickly and we had no problem finding seats. My only complaint is the volume in the dining area. The music was played very loudly and it was hard to wind down after a long day in the park.
There was a large selection of Grab-n-Go items!
The Travel Depot is an Authorized Disney Vacation Planning Agency and all agents are Disney Destination Specialists that have toured the resorts and ships frequently!
